January General Meeting
January 11, 2025
Plantation Community Center
Arts & Crafts Competition
The PWC Arts and Crafts Competition was held Tuesday, January 14, prior to our monthly meeting. Thank you to the judges, Ruth Steinberg and Paula Dayringer, for their time and expertise in judging the entries. The talented winners are as follows:
· 1st and 2nd Place in Ceramics with mold: Sandra Brandt
· 1st Place for Acrylic Painting: Ann Polley
· 1st Place for Photography: Lynne Grubb
The first-place winners’ submissions will go on to the District Competition to be held later this year.
Many thanks to Roberta Carraway and Cece Ramirez for their expertise in executing the competition. In addition, heartfelt thanks go to the women who helped with support and volunteered to make this such a successful event. As the new chair for Arts and Culture my gratitude for their help, knowledge, and support knows no bounds.
Looking towards the future, we hope all members are working on their handmade items. Do you know there are 97 categories of art and craft items that are eligible? Just a few of the categories are jewelry, paper crafts, floral, wreaths, doll making, needle crafts, painting, and photography. If you make something, it would be wonderful to have you participate in next year’s competition. All crafts must be made within the last year. We will welcome all projects at the next competition in January 2026.

Thank You Box Winners
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I was very happy to see so many thank you’s submitted. This thank you program is valuable in recognizing each other for the little-B.I.G. things we do for each other.
January’s winners are:
· To: Shirley Wiggin
Thank you so much for the work you do with the Tiger Buck Store.
· To: Lou Ireland
From: Renee Flores
Thank you for all your work with the 2025 yearbook. I couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks again. HUGS!
· To: Doreen Tulloch-Reid
From: Lynn Grubb
Hope you find joy in each waking moment! Our thoughts are with you. (Edith picked out a pin to share with Doreen)
Next month, we will have a new lead for the Thank You Program. Gail Marie Perry will be adding this program to her belt.
We will also ensure all the thank you’s that weren’t pulled will reach each of you. Just because it wasn’t one of the three winners, doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t know you received a thank you.

Tiger Buck Store - Member Donations
You ladies rock! I got such beautiful donations for our Tiger Bucks Store at today’s meeting. I strongly encourage you to visit the store and volunteer if time permits.
I can’t believe that we have February, March and May dates then we have our summer break. Time flies! Thank you again so much for your contributions and your support.
