Catered Lunch a la Miami Job Corps
Catered Lunch a la Miami Job Corps
Last month we had a fantastic presentation by culinary teacher Rayne Stubbs from the Miami Job Corps Center. She and two of her students, Casey Martin and Sean Wright, demonstrated how to make a healthy Couscous chicken. It was accompanied by a Beet Juice Shot and a delicious Broccoli Salad. For dessert we had a Yogurt and Granola Parfait.
Everything was prepared with our health and wellness in mind! Everything was eaten with gusto! Yum Yum! Comments included "This is the best lunch we have had here in a while!" It was enjoyed by all.
Thank you to Rayne, Casey and Sean.

Teacher of the Month - Recognition
October 2025
October 2025
It was a banner night for three Plantation school teachers who were recognized for their excellence in front of a standing-room-only crowd at city hall. The Plantation Advisory Education Board's new program on "Teacher Excellence" rewarded outstanding performance in the classroom. Each month an elementary, middle and high school teacher will be selected representing the finest in our city and introduced at city council meetings. PWC was recognized by the Advisory Board's Chair, Michael Taussig, for underwriting the entire year's expenses which include monetary awards and other perks. We had a hearty round of applause from the audience, and I encourage our members to attend all future education award presentations at city hall. The three winners for this month were: Andrea Gresham - Mirror Lake Elementary, Anthony Suliveras - Plantation Middle School and Dr. Marsha Samuels - South Plantation High.

We celebrated A REAL SENIOR MOMENT with Helen Ackerman! Thank you, Helen, for opening our general meeting in October!
Helen, please share how young you are. “I might be 86 years in chronological age, but I really am 32!” When asked what she likes about being a member of the club, she couldn’t wait to share… “What I like about our members is that they represent people from all over the US as well as foreign countries. That allows for a wonderful exchange of ideas and builds a club with real-life experience.” Karinne Bernstein, President |
