Home Life - Guardian ad Litem
Kerry-Ann Brown (pictured to the left with President Helen Ackerman) was very grateful for having the opportunity to inform us about the Guardian ad Litem Program.
She will be forwarding information on the activities that Voices for the Children of Broward County has throughout the year that our organization can participate in which
benefits the children that their program serves. She thanks all the” wonderful and beautiful women in the room”.
I also would like to take this time to thank all the wonderful and very kind ladies that helped me make this program successful while I was away. We are still beholding of fostering friendship between women, and I am very honored to be part of this organization.
Happy Birthday GFWC Plantation Woman’s Club.

Sprinkling Her Fairy Dust....
After our February meeting with Guardian Ad Litem, I received a calendar of great events that this organization was hosting for the year.
Well for the month of February they were having a Children’s Books Donation Drive. Wait…. What drive? I’m the Book Fairy… oh goodie, oh boy!
In speaking to Kerry she explained that they are in need of books ranging from 0-17.5 years of age for multiple reasons. They are used as ice breakers when a volunteer meets a child to help create a shared bond. They are used during sometimes long waits during court visits and are also given to the children to read on their own to help pass away the time.
After hearing how valuable these books are to this great cause, I couldn’t help but offer ours. The Book Fairy has been very blessed with hundreds, dare I even say THOUSANDS of books this year. In guessing I currently had at least 1000 books and parting with even half would not hurt any location we currently offer books to.
So, on February 26th a representative paid a visit to my home. She was able to drive away with 478 books.
As we reviewed each book for suitability, even she was overcome with the variety, quality and topics. Who doesn’t like a good story about “this little piggy?”
She was over the moon thrilled and thanked our Club multiple times.
