The FLITE Center of Broward was adopted by the GFWC Plantation Woman's Club through our Health and Wellness / Home Life Chair, Karinne Bernstein in October 2021. On suggestion from Karinne, the Club accepted FLITE as one of the projects we continue to assist. The young adults at the FLITE Center are very grateful and thankful for our help. ALL of the donations are straight from the hearts of GFWC PWC Members themselves. Thank you, Members for your donations and contributions!

GFWC National Day of Service 2024 - F.L.I.T.E.
It is with great pride that I thank every member for the annual “Day of Service” food drive that we donated to the FLITE Center.
There were HUNDREDS of pounds of food. I especially learned this first-hand helping to load the two cars with the bags and bags of groceries!
As FLITE attempts to aid in all areas for struggling young adults, we can pride ourselves with knowing many will have food on their tables thanks to our Club.
Feel free to reach out directly to make any personal donations of additional food, monetary gifts or gently used households.
Please see the below information for drop off information:

GFWC National Day of Service 2023 - F.L.I.T.E.
As a GFWC Woman’s Club project, it was a no brainer when they asked each club to celebrate a day of service during the month of September.
F.L.I.T.E. came to mind immediately. As you know, several years ago in memory of Marlene Lee, one of our beloved members, I spear-headed a Health & Wellness program to offer our club an opportunity to help young adults thru the F.L.I.T.E. Program. Our guest visitors, Ms. Felicia and Ms. Sharonda were truly thankful for our large donation. We have always made miracles happen when called upon.
In addition to the non-perishable supplies, we were also able to donate the following to a 5-session cooking class for 20 young adults. 20 microwaves, coffee pots, rice cookers, frying pans, measuring glasses, mini measuring cups, spatulas, serving spoons with & without holes, and can openers.
It took every bit of 3 SUVs to squeeze, and squeeze some more, to make sure they had everything.
I did warn them, even one of the gentlemen questioned going back to get a bigger truck! Now that’s what I call “show boating” and doing the right thing!
Thank you to you all. We are a force to be reckoned with when we band as a team.

We want to thank Noah Andrew a student at South Plantation High School for his food donation.
Noah and his mother Jennifer helped collect food for F.L.I.T.E.
Thank you so much. What a great community effort!

BEDS OF LOVE FOR F.L.I.T.E.
Thank you, ladies. We had over a dozen bed in bags as well as monetary donations to give to our community of aged out foster kids.
When I delivered their gifts the staff had big smiles saying they were out and needed two immediately. So we were right on time AGAIN!
Thank you for your continued effort to support these young adults.

Silent Auction to Benefit F.L.I.T.E.
Member Gloria Merritt donated all of the items presented in the silent auction. After her daughter bought a furnished condo in Naples, a lot of the items were just not Gloria's daughter's taste, so Gloria spearheaded the idea of bringing all of the unwanted items to our Club and created a silent auction - with all proceeds to benefit the youth at FLITE. All monies collected will go directly to the programs at FLITE. Thank you, Gloria,
Auction started in March and will continue through May, all on display at each general meeting.
