🌺 Wild Flowers 🌼
I want to thank our speakers, Pat Rossi, and her friends, Mariana Yi & NaMa. They are part of the butterfly team, taking care of two butterfly gardens at the Extension Center.
Pat is a Master Gardener/Volunteer—MGV from UF/IFAS Broward County Agricultural Extension Service Davie, Florida.
Some of the wildflowers that Pat spoke about, are actually growing in my next-door neighbor’s yard, so now I know what they are. You learn something new every day.
We had a nice lunch from Rob’s barbecue. Thank you Cece 💖. Desserts were strawberry themed as March is strawberry month. Hope everyone enjoyed it.🍓

SOS - Send One Sister
District 13, representing all Broward County GFWC clubs, is sending Thea Harding of the Woman's Club of Deerfield Beach to the 2023 Florida convention as the recipient of the "Send One Sister" $100 stipend towards convention costs. SOS candidates are new members who have taken on leadership responsibilities and are looking forward to knowing more about GFWC. Congratulations to Thea!

Got Sneakers? We Did
Got Sneakers Drive Ended for this Year!
Thank you to Club members who donated old sneakers so our landfills would not contain sneakers that take 30-40 years to decompose. Your efforts have allowed sneakers to be recycled or recirculated. A conservation project well done!
You may see this project reintroduced next year. A special thank you to Beverly Keeve and Liz Dori for their help with this project.

Give Us the Rings and a BRAND
I am very excited to share that we have completed 3,200 pipe cleaner rings for our next large event for the children and parents alike attending the Easter Egg Hunt that our Club sponsors each year.
It took four bins, 800 in each and many hours of donated time. In fact, each ring can take as little as five minutes to make from start to finish, but five minutes times 3,200 rings is a whopping 266 hours. That is an amazing amount of time we are donating to bring smiles to our community of children!
As I mentioned, we have some heavy hitters to thank. Liz Dori, Gail Triviz, Shirley Wiggin, Bev Keeve, Eirene Stansbury, Judy McLeod, and Renee Flores. Just this month we added three new ladies, Olga Nelson, Noelia Toledo, and Marion Zegar. Thank you all for helping!!!
We still have another 5,000 to go, but at this rate we may be finished with 4th of July and Holiday parade rings by May! Wooo hoooo! More and more people are recognizing the functions and involvement that the Plantation Woman’s Club are in with these small token gestures. Who knew?
If there is an event or a center that you think would appreciate the rings, please let me know. We have already given rings to a Senior Center in Miami and a Doctor’s office here in Plantation that sees a lot of children. We also plan on donating rings to the Mother’s Day breakfast hosted by the Palm Tree Community Center.
