As a sponsor to the event, our PWC ladies were there to help “flip the switch” to light up City Hall. Pictured above: Mayor Nick Sortal, Gail, Karinne, Helen, Michelle and Sophia kneeling down.
Not only did our PWC ladies have a great time at Light Up City Hall, so did thousands of spectators from all over enjoy themselves as well.
We handed out hundreds of pipe cleaner rings, dreidels, tattoos, snacks as well as selling our Club cookbook AND we collected 98 email addresses of
interested ladies to receive a free club newsletter.

Thank you to all the ladies who showed up early Saturday morning to help decorate & ride on PWC’s float. A huge-huge thank you to Judy’s son, Michael, who came and helped put up and take down our decorations - not to mention the bubble machine! The pipe cleaner rings were such a tremendous hit with everyone!

This is for the donation Michelle made to West Broward Rehab.
On Wednesday, March 9th Michelle Moskowitz donated 62 beautiful "Happy-Cicles" to West Broward Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Michelle presented the "Happy-Cicles" to Steven Ostreich, Administrator for the center. Michelle wanted to give the residents something they could hang in their window to help make them smile. Thank you Michelle for being such a giving person. |

PWC SOCIAL COMMITTEE had their first meeting to discuss our 72nd Birthday Party but before we started we got our creative juices
going by helping to make 62 beautiful "Happy-cicles" to be donated by Michelle Moskowitz to West Broward Rehab Center.
With all of the isolation during this pandemic, we wanted to give them something they could hang in their window to make them smile.
We have an awesome PWC Social Committee: Roberta Carraway, Renee Flores, Gloria Merritt, Michelle Moskowitz, Laura Palazzo, Beverly Payne, Cece Ramirez, and Darlene Vlazny.

Our Conservation Chair "Thumbing It Up"
April 12, 2020 was Martha Gregory’s (Conservation Chair) first harvest of CELERY.
Martha said, “Should be good with some peanut butter on it...YUM!”
This is what Martha cooked for dinner one night...the tomatoes, basil and thyme are from her garden.

Annual Golf Tournament - May 2019
This year’s Plantation Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Golf
Tournament was held on May 11, 2019 and was attended by one of our own. Karen Hodish was accompanied by her husband, Rick Hodish and neighbors Al Cosentino and Michael Molfetta. They are pictured here at the hole sponsored by GFWC Plantation Woman’s Club. Although our team did not win, we all had a great time. The Plantation Woman’s Club was given a plaque for their continued support of the Plantation Volunteer Fire Department. Karen Hodish The Fire Association proceeds from the Golf Tournament are for the benefit of all members and their families who find themselves in need. A portion of these funds will be received by the Barry Boulton family—who lost his life in the line of duty on May 7th. |

20 Years of Service to the City of Plantation
At the City Council meeting on February 20, while honoring member Lynn Braden receiving her 20 year pin, a young man came up to me (I had my PWC shirt on) and said he was so thankful for the Plantation Woman’s Club.
He introduced himself as Matthew Schnur and in 2014 he received a scholarship to go to theUniversity of Florida – (I later confirmed it).
He said that the scholarship changed his life; he worked at Disney for 1 ½ years and now works for the City. He said, “I wouldn’t be where I am today without the Plantation Woman’s Club. I worked with Gail Triviz and she was “wonderful.”
